Description

Vintage Lodge Maid of Honor Cast Iron Griddle.

Produced briefly in the 1950’s by Lodge, Maid of Honor was marked with a unique stylized logo.

In 1896, Joseph Lodge started the Blacklock Foundry. The company focused on manufacturing a wide range of cast iron products, including cast iron cookware. Blacklock experienced success until May 1910 when a fire sparked and destroyed the foundry. But Joseph Lodge and his family didn’t give up. Just three months after the fire, the company was reborn down the road as the company we know today: Lodge Cast Iron. In the early years, in addition to hollow ware, the Lodge line of products included foundation vents, sad irons, decorative fireplace fenders, and an extensive line of Andirons and fireplace grates. It also included a vast line of sugar kettles and large English Pots.Much of the cast iron is over 100 years old and still usable today, much like this excellent piece of Lodge history.

Circa: 1950’s

This piece has been cleaned and seasoned using CONROY’S SKILLET BUTTER.

We make Conroy’s Skillet Butter using a unique blend of locally sourced North Carolina beeswax and Non-GMO avocado and grapeseed oil. Not only will this protect your cast iron and carbon steel from rust, it will also help create the non stick surface you have been wanting.

CONROY’S SKILLET BUTTER is available on our Shoppy page, be sure to get yours today.

Some Cast Iron Cookware can have discoloration, factory markings and utensil marks, this will even out and darken with use.
