American Eagle brooch, large 40s enamel eagle, patriotic brooch, Coro-sid-96413

Description

-This splendid bird has a wingspan of 3.75 inches and stands 2 inches high or 9.5 cm by 5 cm. He is made of a gold plated metal with enamel paint. This piece is shown in Costume Jewelry 202 bu Julia Carrol on page 137 in an un-enameled version. He holds arrows and a laurel branch in his talons.This was probably made in the early 1940's as a patriotic brooch. This brooch is in good vintage condition with very minimal wear to the enamel for its age. This brooch is not signed, but I have had the identical piece with the Coro mark on the tail feathers. So this is either an unsigned Coro or an excellent copy.
