Zuma Blue Crystalline Glazed Lotion/Soap Pump

This pump is a new design for me – I formed it by slip casting from a curvy original form that I made. It is 6.5 inches tall including the brushed nickel pump, 4 inches wide, and holds 15 ounces of your favorite soap, lotion, or hand sanitizer. It is glazed with my several of my crystalline glazes to give my Zuma blue gradient, and the inside is glazed with a clear liner glaze.

All of the crystalline glazes that I use are original glazes invented myself. Each crystalline glazed piece is unique in that they cannot be duplicated. The crystals are never the same from one piece to another.

I use high fire porcelain, and fire to a peak temperature of 2350°F – aka cone 11. What this means is that the porcelain is fully vitrified and watertight even without the glazes. Because of the way that I fire and the glazes that I use, all my work is fully functional – watertight, lead free, and microwave safe. Dishwashing may etch the glaze surface over time, so I recommend hand washing.
