Kōnane is a two-player strategy board game similar to checkers that was invented and played by ancient Hawaiian Polynesians. Before contact with Europeans, the game was played using small pieces of white coral and black lava on a large carved rock which doubled as both board and table. This miniature Konane game was produced in the 1960's and 1970's by Lanakila Crafts and includes a wood game board with one set each of white and black seashells. This game is still enclosed in cellophane thus has never been opened and played. The game is complete with instruction guide and measures 5.75" square and 0.5" thick. What a unique vintage relic from mid-century Hawaii!
To ensure safety in shipping, the game will be bubble wrapped with cardboard supports then packed in a padded envelope and shipped USPS Ground Advantage which includes tracking and insurance.
Please consider viewing other vintage items in my shop. I am frequently adding new items from my eclectic collection of Hawaiian Art Deco and post WW ll collectibles.
