Fanciful covered cookie jar or kitchen storage/decor, made of a fairly lightweight white porous clay, with lots of molded-in details.
Cute stylized face with plump fish lips, and curly, wavy fins. The lid has an inner gasket for a more snug closure, and the tail makes a great carrying handle. Good vintage condition; I can see a few little marks and scuffs occasionally, as well as a few little flakes in the glaze or surface. See last two photos for enlargements of this detail. Nothing major, though, it's clean and shiny, a very attractive piece for the kitchen or collection.
Measures approximately 9 1/2" long from lip to tail, and about 7 1/2" tall.
