Vintage Art Deco ORANGE & BLACK Enamel Checkerboard Sterling Silver Locket Necklace ~ GERMANY-sid-26686

This stunning locket necklace features an unusual locket with a puffy checkerboard design covered in orangish-red, black, and white enamel. The white enamel are thin lines that outline the squares. The black enamel is opaque, but the orangish-red enamel, which is like a rich rust, is translucent. It is either metallic or gives a metallic appearance with the silver background behind it. The design is over the front; the back is shiny silver. It is connected to a matching Y chain with five enamel pieces–four ovals on the chain and one circle from which the drop hangs. All five pieces have matching orange enamel and all pieces have guilloché designs in the silver. All enamel pieces are decorated on both sides. The locket opens down, instead of to the side, and reveals all original photo frames, backings, and celluloid covers. The inside of the locket is stamped "STERLING" and "GERMANY."

Condition: The front and chain are excellent–locket and chain enamel is pristine; there are a few dings on the back of the locket; locket closes with a snap
