Late 70s/Early 80s vintage Levi's® Orange Tab 517 with the most amazing fade! High contrast super close and horizontal lines show how tight and high they'd originally been worn. The base color is faded to a rich, saturated medium indigo with great twill definition and a rugged handfeel. Thighs, knee and seat are all beautifully worn in and the left back pocket has a clear wallet impression, and splatter of bleach, giving it great unique character.
The jeans feature the classic Orange Tab simplified twin-needle construction introduced in the late 60s as Levi's® developed youth-oriented fashion fits for the first time. Other classic Orange Tab signifiers are the quarter-cut watch pocket; 7 belt-loops; flattering elongated twin-needle stitched back pockets; and antique copper hardware. The brass fly zipper is stamped with the famous 'Batwing' logo, designed in 1967.
The 517 had been originally introduced in 1969 as the 'Saddleman Boot Jean', in Sta-Prest twill; and was added in denim in 1971 as a hard-working cowboy jean. The super straight, flat front top-block and sexy slim boot silhouette quickly led to it being adopted by the young generation, leading Levi's® to reposition the fit within the Orange Tab offering by the late 70s.
