This wildflower is native to North America and can be found in the lower 48 states. It's a perennial plant that can grow up to 6 ft tall and prefers moist to wet soils and full sun. Blue vervain is often found in wet meadows, stream bottoms, and around slough edges. It has blue to purple flowers, simple leaves with lobes or teeth, and blooms throughout the summer and into autumn. Blue vervain is a good pollinator attractant and songbirds eat its seeds. Historically, it was thought to be a cure for many ailments and is still used for medicinal purposes today.
Good for cooking, eco-printing, tea blends, herb wreaths, or dried flowers.
