The design of this suet feeder allows for the suet cages to slide up into the upper part (roof and sides) and be held in place by a dowel with a decorative knob (handle). When the suet cages need to be filled, just pull the handle of the dowel out to release (lower) the suet cages, fill, then slide the suet cages back up into the upper part and replace the dowel! It's super easy to do!
