The "Luthier's Craft" Madagascar Rosewood, with a centre purfling Handcrafted Sgian Dubh with Carbon steel blade.

Maker's Note- I am a qualified Luthier-A guitar maker, each guitar I make has a hardwood edge to protect it, known as a binding, on the inside of this strip is a decorative strip know a Purfling, each purfling is an expression of the maker, handmade from books of veneer(bog oak and Scottish sycamore) cut at an angle and assembled to create a herring bone pattern. This is the centre strip of this Sgian Dubh. It is trimmed with Scottish Yew and Walnut.

This Sgian Dubh is made from extremely rare Madagascar Rosewood.

This Sgian Dubh also features a hand crafted centre detail made by cutting individual pieces of Bog Oak and Maple, see photographs for details.

Hand sanded satiny smooth and finished with a long lasting environmentally-friendly oil that keeps the natural look and feel of the wood and allows it to breath. (Tested according to DIN EN 71, Part 3, Safe for Toys.)

This Sgian Dubh complies with UK knife laws due to it’s blade length being less than 3 1/4”(87mm) and being fixed, and by purchasing this item you agree to be over 18 years old(16 years old in Scotland) When worn as part of the national dress of Scotland, the sgian-dubh is legal in Scotland, England, and Wales: in Scotland under the Criminal Law (Consolidation) (Scotland) Act 1995 sec. 49, sub-sec. 5(c)

A Hand-stitch Full Grain Leather scabbard is also included.
