These ancient Congolese spirits are often seen in botanicas and in the homes of those who practices Espiritismo rooted in Allen Kardecism and/or Santeria and Palo practices along with Papa Candelo. Ta Francisco and Ma Francisca were originally from the island of Hispanola. Ma Francisca was a respected Mambo married to Ta Francisco at a young age and both remained inseparable until death. It is for this reason that statues of Ma Francisca are always accompanied by Ta Francisco because Ma Francisca refuses to work without her life long partner. This undying love makes them perfect to invoke for all matters of love, peaceful home, and protection.
