Mealworm frass is a 100% natural insect plant fertilizer. It is great for flowers, plants, vegetables and cannabis. It can be used for indoor growing as well as hydroponics. Mealworm frass is a combination of mealworm droppings and small pieces of molted exoskeleton. Frass naturally contains a variety of minerals needed for plant growth. It also contains chitin (pronounced kite-in), which is found in the molted exoskeletons. This natural, chitin-enriched frass bolsters a plant’s immune system. It triggers plants to think that insects are attacking, causing them to strengthen their cell walls and release natural insect toxins as a defense. Though chitin doesn’t act as a pesticide, its presence helps plants grow stronger and helps them withstand an actual attack by a pest later. It has a neutral pH, low odor, no nitrates, heavy metals, methane or nitrous-oxide emissions and it doesn’t burn the roots. It can be used for both indoor and outdoor plants and is considered all-purpose fertilizer with an N-P-K value of 2-3-2.
