Rare Vintage French Solid Wood Cutting Chopping Board with Three Gallery Sides, Great as a Charcuterie Board; Display Collectibles

Rare vintage (C. 1950s) French chopping/cutting board with three gallery sides. Boards like this one were used for chopping fresh herbs and small vegetables for cooking in the French farmhouse kitchen. The sides kept the food from falling from the counter or table to the farmhouse floor. Shows age and use, as should be expected. We have left this antique board as found at the brocante (flea market) in the northern countryside of France. Perfectly functional for kitchen use. Solid and thick base. Heavy. Lovely patina. Most likely wood is ash or walnut. In very good condition. Perfect piece for displaying your collection of antique glass bottles or French mustard jars (not included) on a kitchen counter/island.

Measures 13.75 inches wide across the front, narrowing to 11 inches at the back. Sides are 4 inches tall; 3 inches deep/tall interior. Front to back measures 8.5 inches.
