Original embroidery hoop artwork 'The galaxy of you' visible mending pregnancy art

The second piece to be released from the 2022 gallery exhibition 'Stitches and tears' by Katie Errington Davies, textile artist.

'The galaxy of you' is made from a piece of reclaimed distressed denim mended with free-form stitching. It was then layered with cotton from a vintage bedding set and galaxy print cotton embroidered to create the image of a pregnant belly, scarred and swollen and full of magical potential. The piece is a reflection on the healing process which takes place during pregnancy.

Presented in a 8" embroidery hoop this piece can be hung on a wall or placed on a shelf. It is fully backed in felt and signed by the artist.

Katie Errington Davies is an artist and seamstress best known for her work creating original art bags. She has worked with Saatchi and Saatchi on a marketing campaign for Mr Kipling and has had work sold throughout the UK.
