The best photographs of the Hollywood stars were captured by Ross Verlag during the 1920s to 1940s. The studios entrusted Verlag for perfect art work and it was not possible to obtain his work elsewhere.
Beautiful Louise Brooks (1906 – 1985) started her career as a dancer during the 1920s, and she was noticed by the producer of Paramount Pictures who then signed her up for 5 years as an actress.
Although given mediocre roles, Louise used this time to build social connections and even had an affair with Charlie Chaplin. But in 1929 she went to Germany and starred there in 3 films that would give her international acclaim.
By 1940 she had starred in 25 films, 17 of which were silent. She retired as she had been blacklisted by Hollywood and was only offered trivial parts. She quickly became insolvent and also suffered from depression and alcoholism. Fortunately for her, a cult following developed in the 1950s for her earlier German films and Louise was persuaded to write articles about the films that she had starred in.
Today Louise Brooks is considered as an icon of the flapper culture. She had the amazing bob hairstyle and vamp image.

The postcard measures 5 1/2 inches by 3 1/2 inches
Condition
In very good vintage condition. Slight crease to the left just above the elbow, and light annotation to top left corner. This could be an autographed postcard as it is understood that Louise Brooks did not sign her own cards. Visible when held to the light. Please see photos.
