A very elegant small jam pot or jelly jar made by Lenox China (made in Malaysia), in a lovely giftware design called "Orchard." This is what we laughingly call a "forced marriage." When I had a chance to carefully examine the jar and lid, I realized the pot has the design for "Peach," but the lid is "Orange." Not only is the finial handle on the lid a round orange (with orange trim), while the sides of the jar show pink peaches, but the small flower or bloom decorations are different on the lid and jar. The lid has white orange blossoms, the jar has pink peach blossoms. It still makes a very pretty piece, or might serve to replace a part you may have lost.

This pot (without the lid) measures 2.25 inches high at the rim and 2-7/8 inches wide across the elegant little scrolled handles. With the lid on, the piece sits 3.5 inches high. Although mismatched, the jar and lid are in very good to excellent condition. There are no chips, cracks, flakes, hairlines, or crazing that I can find, and no scratches or utensil marks. I do not have the spoon that would have originally accompanied the piece.

The bottom is marked with the gold Lenox wreath logo: "Peach | Fine Porcelain | Lenox | Copyright Lenox 1991." There is also a sticker for "Handcrafted in Malaysia."
