This large Contemporary Marble is an original and authentic handmade piece, by one of the master artist glassmakers of Teign Valley Glass Studio, from the county of Devon in England. The company was created in 1981 and adheres to a code of strict values of traditional glassmaking by highly trained craftsmen and designers. Their marbles are world-famous for their beautiful construction and fairytale colours, from dark and majestic, to graceful and numinous.

This example is called a 'Trapped Twist': a classy cage of black enclosing a beautiful double ribbon of ultramarine with pink and purple speckles. It would enhance any collection, or make a perfect gift. It is signed upon the reverse pontil with 'T.V.G.' .

These marbles are notoriously hard to find with the original packaging, but this one comes in the named box, stamped 'Teign Valley Glass' in gold on deep navy blue. It also has a discreet ring stand made in a glassy ceramic with an attractive pale wood-grain wave pattern.

Condition: Mint – , with some very light scratches.
