Kaiser’s Kaffee Kontor “Die lachende Kanne” brown porcelain coffee pot / advertising / P. Böhm & P. Behrens / W. Germany / 1950s -1970s

This nice coffee pot was made in the shape of a happily smiling coffee pot. The glaze is a warm swirly chocolate and caramel brown with a satin finish. It is an advertising piece for the German coffee company Kaiser’s Kaffee Kontor founded 1880 in Viersen Westphalia). In 1904 Paul Böhm was commishioned to come up with a logo for the company and in 1914 Peter Behrens is said to have done a revision of the design. He was a pioneer of industrial design and invented the concept of corporate design for AEG. So this nice coffee pot is not only a guaratee for a friendly atmosphere on your table but also a surprising conversation piece for design lovers. The maker is not disclosed anywhere, sofar.

It is in very good vintage condition without any cracks, chips, crazing. There is a productuon flaw hiding under the handle that was covered with glaze. On the upper rim there Is a small glaze bubble that popped. Upon close inspection some scratches can be found. None of those are very noticible, The piece is signed on the bottom: Kaiser’s Kaffee Kontor 0,9l
