Hand Carved Box Elder Stirring Spoon

Made for the chef who needs an extremely durable non-scratch spoon for stirring and mixing.
Medium length handle and elongated bowl with a thick rim to avoid splitting over time as it wears.
Made of Box Elder and carved entirely by me in my workshop using axe, knife, and gouge. No machines were used at any point.
The result is a spoon that follows the strength of the grain as it grew, which will resist warping and checking.
As a final step in the process, the spoon is burnished and polished with a special set of hardwood and stone burnishing tools as it's oiled with several coats of organic flax oil.
This allows the oil to penetrate deep into the compressed fibers of the wood to build a durable and long lasting finish, not just a layer on top.
Measures 9-1/2" L x 1-3/4" W x 3/4" H.
