Glass Light Pull using reclaimed waste glass – Salvage Collection – Fan Pull, Cord Pull

These could be light pulls, equally well they work for fans and blinds too!

When I poke cold glass into a gas flame some bits tend to ping off, after a while this waste glass builds up on my bench and it starts to look like a multicoloured beach. Instead of just cleaning my bench and throwing it away I've collected this glass, washed, and sieved it, to saved it for use in these light pulls – Salvaged it in fact!

Each pull is decorated with the reclaimed waste glass (or frit) which is manipulated while it's molten to create a pattern unique to each pull. The decoration colours will vary with the current batch I've salvaged but the eight base colours will remain constant (you might recognise them from the Gradient or Velvet & Gloss Collections)

My standard light pulls are approximately 4cm high, I make each one individually so there is some variation, that's the joy of handmade! I have had a few requests for larger light pulls so I have started to make a larger version which is 5.5-6cm high

For all sizes the hole at the top is approximately 3.5mm in diameter with a larger diameter hole at the bottom to hide the knot in your pull cord.

Each light pull is presented on a plastic-free, recyclable printed card. I'd imagine you already have a pull switch or blinds if you're purchasing a pull but, if you need a replacement cord, you can add one to your order. This is a commerically made 150cm/60"cord with a plastic connector suitable for most pull cord light fittings. There's also info showing you how I prefer to thread the pulls in the FAQs
