ONE OF MY MANY EXCLUSIVE DIY PARTS
TOP QUALITY – OVER 200 SOLD!
This kit includes everything you need to quickly, easily, and securely mount and wire a glass insulator to your industrial pipe lighting project. You get a UL Listed porcelain candelabra (E12) socket with 24" color-coded leads, a 1-1/4" lamp nipple with locknut, two rubber washers, and an NPT to IPS headless lamp nipple adapter (choose mount size upon ordering). A cardboard insulator sleeve is also included. The only things that aren't included are the glass insulator itself, and a candelabra base bulb. Your insulator will need a 1/2" hole drilled through the top (see photo). This listing shows several examples of how this mounting kit can be used – any glass insulators, pipes, or other parts not shown in the first photo are not included.
Save money buy buying a 2-pack. If you need large quantities of these kits, and it seems I don't have enough in stock to meet your needs, just contact me. I can always fill large orders, just as long as I have enough notice to gather up all the parts necessary. And I'm always willing to consider discounts on large orders.
Although the included porcelain socket is UL Listed and rated to handle up to 75W, I strongly recommend using only bulbs that are 15W or less, and here's why – once the glass insulator is drilled, it becomes weaker, and it could crack or break if using 40W or 60W incandescent bulbs, which get really hot. Besides, glass insulators look best with the warm glow of a 4W or 7W bulb anyway.
All you have to do is choose what size pipe or fitting you want to mount to – I offer this kit in 1/2", 3/4", and 1" sizes. The included adapter lets you easily go from your female NPT tapered thread to the lamp nipple's 1/8" IPS straight thread. Proper electrical experience is required to safely wire this socket to your lamp project.
With the cardboard insulator sleeve, the diameter of these sockets is 0.81" (20.58mm). Without the cardboard sleeve, they are 0.71" (18.03mm).
If you are looking to make a hanging pendant lamp with your glass insulator, I do not recommend this kit, as the black and white wires are permanently soldered onto the porcelain socket, so you can't replace them with the typical round or twisted cloth-covered cord that you would usually use for a pendant. But I do now offer a hanging pendant lamp kit for glass insulators. Please check it out at:
If all you need is the NPT to IPS headless lamp nipple adapter, I sell those separately here in my shop – as low as $3 each in quantity (see separate listing):
