The process:
Handmade in my private pottery studio, I create my spoon rests on the potter's wheel using a smooth, off-white clay body. After slowly drying, they make their first trip to the kiln, where the temperature reaches just above 1900 degrees F. Following a slow cooling of about 12 hours, each piece is lightly sanded to smooth any rough spots. The glazing process is next, where each piece is carefully finished with both durable and professional ceramic glazes, followed by a final trip to the kiln, which reaches almost 2200 degrees. Each galaxy turquoise spoon rest is one-of-a-kind!
