Fagerlund for Orrefors Crystal Textured Glass and Brass Ceiling Pendant and Wall Lamp Set 1950s rare Mid-Century Modern Scandinavian Swedish

Beautiful set of two wall lights and a pendant designed by Carl Fagerlund for Orrefors Sweden.

These lamps are made of brass and crystal textured glass shade what reflect a wonderful light.

Period 1950s-1960s.

Carl Fagerlund was hired as a lighting architect at Orrefors Glassworks in 1946. In addition to a variety of ceiling and table luminaire models designed for domestic use, Fagerlund's public buildings included Prince Eugene's Waldemarsudde, Frederiksberg Town Hall, Hotel D'Angleterre and Hotel Mercur in Copenhagen, Kiruna City Hall, the Swedish Embassy in Tokyo, Möllevången Church in Malmö, General Motors' headquarters in the USA and Gävle Crematorium. Fagerlund also had exhibitions in London, Paris, Berlin, Milan, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Lund and Kalmar. He was awarded a silver medal at the 11th Triennial in Milan in 1957.

Carl Fagerlund made a lot of breath-taking designs while working at Orrefors Glassworks, where he was hired as a ligthing architect in 1946 and worked alongside designers such as Simon Gate, Edward Hald, Vicke Lindstrand, Edvin Öhrström, Nils Landberg och Sven Palmqvist. He also worked with Danish LYFA in the 1960s and 1970s.

His lamps are classic examples of true Mid Century lighting should look and feel like. Orrefors Glassworks are known for their craftsmanship and quality. These wall lamps are in the same category. Mid-century lighting with a hint of Hollywood regency for the vintage connoisseur.

Fitted with EU standard plug. Standard E27 socket. These lamps are close to 70 years old, so expect some patina and wear, see close-ups.
