EARLY 1940s un-numbered vintage Pyrex blue mixing bowl; Marked TM Reg Pyrex Pat. Off.; Later known as #401, but no number; 1.5 pint size-sid-23185

This is an EARLY vintage blue Pyrex mixing bowl #401 (1.5 pint size). Bowl is 5 5/8 inches across.
This bowl looks GREAT for its age. Embossing on base is a bit hard to read, but says, "T.M. REG. PYREX US PAT. OFF." indicating that this bowl is from the 1940s. (Later, in the 1950s, additional numbers and the trademark symbol were added to the bottom.) This bowl is older b/c those newer marks are missing.

Note: Side by side with newer, numbered 401s, this early bowl is a bit lighter blue (not as saturated in color as the later 401 with the primary mixing bowl set), but not as light as the turquoise blue. It is definitely slightly lighter from manufacturing back in the 1940s, not damaged (it's shiny inside and out!). The thickness of the glass is also slightly thicker than the later numbered 401s.

CONDITION: Bowl is in Excellent condition. NO chips or cracks. The inside is shiny and white. The exterior is shiny and the color looks almost perfect, but there are 2 teeny tiny scrapes on the rim (difficult to see) and a few tiny marks (not scratches) that might come off with oven cleaner (I didn't try).
