This custom cornice board pelmet box with silver nail head by Designer Homes can be used alone or as a finishing touch to your curtains or other window treatments. The modern shape in the decorative step edge window cornice will add texture and visual interest to any room, transforming your drab space into a fab space. Use instead of a classic valance to add touch of elegance to the window treatments in your space.

We will use only top quality plywood and batting in your cornices, as well as years of experienced in professional upholstery techniques, to create quality cornices that you will enjoy for years to come! Every cornice has a special concealed dust shelf on the inside that is used for mounting the cornice. Your cornices come with all the necessary mounting hardware. All you need is a screwdriver (with a long extension), measuring tape and a pencil to install your new cornice (instructions for installation are included with every order).

NOTE: The center length dimension of this cornice will change based on which cornice length you choose. The step step design on the edge will maintain it's overall shape/appearance as shown in the photo. Smaller cornices than the cornice shown will have a shorter center length and larger cornices will have a longer center length (This center length is the straight portion of the cornice located between the 2 innermost steps).

This cornice has an 11" face height (aka: drop) in the center of the design that graduates to 16" at it's tallest edge. This is very important in keeping the integrity of the design. We are also happy to create custom cornices in any width or height you would like. Just send us a message to get started!

You choose the length of the cornice side returns (distance from the wall to the cornice face) based upon your needs. You can choose from 4" or 7" returns. (No additional charge for this) Please see our recommendations below for which return depth may be right for you.

• The standard 4" return is suitable for mounting your cornice over blinds or shades, especially if they are inside window mounted.

• Order the 7" return if you are mounting your cornice over curtain drapery or outside mount window treatments.

How To Measure and Choose Your Cornice Size:

• Measure the entire width of your window INCLUDING the surrounding trim (AKA: frame, molding, casing). See diagram in photos above.

• Add 6" Total to the above measurement if you will be adding curtains or other drapery. (This will allow 3" on each side of cornice for curtain light gap coverage on the wall, curtain hardware, etc.)

OR

• Add 3" total to the above measurement if you are NOT using drapery or other window treatments that require outside mount window hardware.

• Choose your total calculated width from steps 1 & 2 from the drop down menu at checkout. The measurement you choose will represent the inside width of the opening in the back of the cornice (the open space that fits around your window).
