Breezy upcycled summer top – bonus item included.

Embrace the season with this breezy summer top. It’s an upcycled remake of a like new men’s shirt.

Bonus = kerchief/bandana included. Wear it to help stay even cooler. It’s not a large kerchief (I had just enough fabric leftover to pull it off) but it does the job and it’s reversible with generous 15.5 inch ties. One could even wear this as the top part of a two piece bathing suit. Beach wear.

I used a spiffy abstract Kaffe Fasset fat quarter with colours that matched some of those in the shirt to add interest.

This is a pull on and off style top. It does not unbutton. It’s a plus size 2X. Nicely finished with a spare button included in case you ever need one.

From the top outer edge of the chest band to the finished outside edge if the hem 51cm. The chest band is 5.5cm wide. The pocket is 15.8cm wide and 17.3 cm deep

The chest band which sits just above the fullest part of one’s bust line measures 57cm around. Long straps which can easily be shortened if needed, by someone who knows how to sew, measure 46cm front to back. Strap drop length is 22.7cm.

Reitmans plus size chart shows 2X as measuring 46.6 inches (118cm) but I think this loose fitting top would fit a slightly larger measurement.
