Scalloped Oval Dish Planter, candy dish.
Exclusively from Canada, this Blue Pottery vase features a scalloped oval shape with light and dark green drip glaze.
The vase showcases a beautiful gradient with high and low riffled sides.
Approximately 9.5" (24 cm) long, 3.5" (9 cm) high, and 5.5" (14 cm) deep.
Very good vintage condition with minor edge chips (please see pictures).
Made in the early 1960s by Evangeline Pottery.
Marked "554," crafted from white clay.
Ideal for any collection, this vase also makes a stylish planter for succulent plants or a unique piece of house decor.

Curiosity: Evangeline ware history: Canuck Pottery was established as a continuation of Foley Pottery c1938 in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. Foley Pottery began c1890's by James Foley, born in England in 1857, and continued under his son Fenwick Foley in the Foley residence.
The early work used a “flow glaze” technique, the blue-green shade reportedly an attempt to mimic the color of Blue Mountain Under the heat and drip glaze they produced a variegated pattern. No batch was entirely the same because they reacted differently. The items had an individuality about them.
