Black Clay Goblet – 8 oz – White Porcelain Slip Design – Ceramic Wine Glass – Handmade Chalice

Beautiful black clay goblet with intricate water etched porcelain design. Thrown on the wheel in two parts and carefully assembled. Coated with white porcelain slip and hand painted with resist. The unmasked slip was then wiped away in a process known as water etching. The result is an upraised design that highlights the natural texture of the clay. Glazed inside with classic tenmoku.

Care & Cleaning: These goblets are glazed inside so they are liquid safe. However, bear in mind that the exterior is unglazed and as such, the white slip decorations may be prone to staining so use caution when wearing lipstick or drinking red wine or other staining liquids. Please wash them by hand with a soft clean cloth or gentle sponge and avoid abrasive cleaners and utensils as the exterior etched slip design could be chipped if cleaned aggressively.

Goblet measures 2 3/4" across the rim and stands 6 3/8" tall, 8 oz capacity
