Antique nutmeg grater, steel spice grater and slicer with storage box on the back, Made in England, patina, kitchenalia, Art Nouveau style

ANTIQUE NUTMEG GRATER

A late Victorian or Edwardian steel nutmeg grater, with an integral storage box, with a sliding closure, on the back for storing the whole nutmeg. It has a decorative Art Nouveau style pattern on the top. This was probably a very early Tala brand. It is not marked Tala but they made these in exactly the same design, the later ones marked 'Tala'. It has a hole to hang it up on a wall. Tala commenced manufacturing kitchen utensils in 1899.

Condition: Used. Some warping around the top and bottom edges. Aged patina, rust marks, tarnish. Wash prior to food use.
