This porcelain Spice jar has 2 marks: "Made in Germany LB", research identifies this as the distributor mark, and the second mark, "Franz Prause Nieder-Salzbrunn”, indicates it was manufactured sometime between 1918 and before World War II in an area of Germany that broke off and became part of Poland after the war. The painting of the bird only appears on the front. The sides and back are blank and gold trim outlines the upper edges.
The jar is in very good condition considering its age at between 90 and 100 years old. No chips or cracks, but there is wear on the gold accents and trim (please see photos).
