WARNING!!! PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING BEFORE YOU TRY TO OVEN OR FIRE TEMPER GREEN BAMBOO! PLEASE READ WARNING BELOW!
1" 2" 3" 4" or 5" Green Giant Large Moso Bamboo Poles Pieces 24" Lengths (2 Feet) 100% Grown and Made in U.S.A. Green ECO Sustainable
These are very unique (Moso) bamboo poles that can be purchased in various sizes and lengths depending on your needs. These are NOT chemically treated in any way and are safe to have both in your garden as well as indoors.
We sell fresh shoots in the spring so technically they were even edible, not now.
(Don't try to eat these.)
However, you can cook IN them! I have made many meals by putting my veggies into the green bamboo and placing it over an open fire. It cooks food beautifully!
The lengths are generally cut with 1 node per foot. For example a 1 foot length with have a single node in the middle with open bamboo on either end, a 2 foot length will have two nodes with two openings on either end, etc.,…
WARNING: If you are purchasing green poles the nodes will be INTACT!!!
IF YOU ARE BUYING A GREEN POLE AND YOU DECIDE YOU WANT TO FIRE TREAT OR OVEN TEMPER YOUR BAMBOO, YOU REALLY NEED TO BREAK OUT THE NODE WALLS TO ENSURE IT DOESN'T SPLIT OR EXPLODE!!! When steam builds up inside the sealed bamboo it can come out with SIGNIFICANT force and potentially cause damage (or make you possibly pee a little in your pants, it nearly did to me the first time I forgot to break the node walls before flame curing).
ALL JOKING ASIDE, LARGE BAMBOO LIKE THESE CAN PRODUCE AN IMMENSE AMOUNT OF PRESSURE WHEN EXPOSED TO TEMPERATURES ABOVE 212 DEGREES AND COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE INJURY. THESE ARE COMPLETEY SAFE TO FIRE CURE AS LONG AS YOU BREAK OUT THE NODE WALLS.
We have old growth as tall as 60'-80' so please contact us if you are interested in lengths greater than what we are listing.
Our groves have been growing since the late 80's and we have 16 different species. If you are looking for something in particular, please ask!
All items sold are made of bamboo grown at The Grass Forest Bamboo Farm in Mint Hill, North Carolina. All pictures are from THIS farm and are NOT stock photos (I took most of them myself). We are currently a non-public bamboo nursery but we will be opening to visitors and the general public in the coming year or two as the farm develops. Your business will expedite our ability to reach this goal. Thank you for your patronage!
FREE SHIPPING CARRIER WILL BE EITHER USPS, FEDEX, OR UPS AND WILL BE SELECTED BY SELLER. PLEASE CONTACT US FOR ADDITIONAL SHIPPING AMOUNT IF YOU WANT IT SHIPPED VIA A SPECIFIC CARRIER AND/OR SHIPPING METHOD.
