1980s Milano la Galleria V. Emanuele II Postcard, Milan, Inside Italy's Oldest Shopping Gallery, Featuring Il Salotto Restaurant, Unposted

Circa 1980s, this vintage Italian postcard features Milano la Galleria – Italy's oldest active shopping gallery. The four-story double arcade in the center of Milan was named after the first king of the Kingdom of Italy. It was designed and built by architect Giuseppe Mengoni from 1865 to 1877. The color photo features the inside of the glass-domed octagonal building – with Ristorante Il Salotto featured on the right. Il Salotto is a historic establishment that has been in business for almost 40 years – from 10 am until the last encore in the evening performances at the nearby Teatro alla Scala. This postcard is unposted, and measures approximately 6" wide X 4" tall. It's in vintage good condition.
