This antique Japanese zokin cloth has been hand sourced in Kyoto, Japan.
These double sided cloths are traditionally used for cleaning wooden floors, and are made up of layers of cotton fabrics which is bound together with sashiko hand stitches.
Fabrics have been hand dyed with botanical dye prior to being layered and stitched together. These cloths can be used as place mats, or as decorations.
Please note this antique textile has various worn areas – adding to its beauty. It is a unique one-off pieces.
