Description:
This is vintage batik signed by artist from Kenya. Batiks are produced in Kenya by brushing hot liquid wax onto a piece of cotton cloth in the desired pattern. The canvas is then dipped into a dye which adheres to all of the areas that are not covered by the wax. The wax is then removed and reapplied repeated for each color used. This is a tedious time consuming endeavor that yields exceptional art. The colors are natural and brilliant!
Size is 16" x 35" It is new, has never been framed or used and had been preserved in clean environment. Framed and grouped together with other batiks, would make quite a statement.
