Growing Instruction
This instruction is applicable for the following bulbs: Oxalis, Bulbine, Lachenalia, Albuca, Massonia, Acis, Pauridia, Leucocoryne, Ipheion, Cyanella, Iridaceae (including: Crocus, Romulea, Moraea, Ixia, Sparaxis, Lapeirousia, Tritonia, Hesperantha, Ferraria, Geissorhiza, Gladiolus, Babiana, Iris, Freesia, etc.)
***Please check for bulb status when receiving them, cracked, sticky liquid, sprouting, and shell fell off are all NORMAL conditions. Sprouting tips falling broken during transportation is normal and will regrow when planted. If bulbs are BROKEN APART during the transportation, seller will issue a refund or negotiate a replacement when pictures of broken bulbs are sent. ***
Size of Bulbs or Seeds: Sizes varies by different families of plants, from 0.075-2 inches. Seeds usually begin to flower 1-3 years after planting and requires more care than bulbs. Bulbs listed with “flowering size bulbs” will bloom flowers first year if care normally.
Growing Temperatures: 41°F (5°C) – 86°F (30°C), plants will begin to withered and begin dormant when average temperature exceeds 86°F (30°C), dies when temperature is lower than 32°F (0°C).
Ideal temperature to Plant: temperature for the next three months is 41°F (5°C) – 86°F (30°C).
How to Plant: Dig holes bigger 200% bigger than the bulb, place bulbs in moist soil, rich soil, cover the bulbs with soil 1-2 inches thick. Keep the soil moist and water daily for the next two weeks.
Growing in Planter: start with 4 inch diameter size planter, change into one size bigger planter every time root reaches full capacity, drainage holes are essential for pot plants.
