Forget-me-not Sacred and Immaculate Heart Brown Scapular

MADE TO ORDER

This is a hand-embroidered scapular using 100% wool felt (as per Brown Scapular conditions), brown and ivory, with brown braided ribbons. The stitching is on 100% ivory wool. all scapulars are all hand-sewn. The backing is solid brown wool felt. The patches are 1.5" high and 1.25" wide. The brown ribbons are 19" long. If you need those adjusted to a different length, leave a note at the checkout.

One patch of the scapular is embroidered with a heart-shaped crown of thorns surrounding the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The other patch has a heart-shaped wreath of forget-me-nots (Our Blessed Mother's blue flower) surrounding the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Legend says, "Forget-me-not flowers are a symbol of the blue ‘Eyes of Mary’ (their other name). It’s believed when the child Jesus was sitting on Mary’s lap looking up into her eyes, He wished future generations could see Him and his mother together. He then touched the earth and Forget-me-not flowers sprang up in her memory.

There is an option to add a crucifix and St. Benedict medal for an additional fee.

About the scapular: In the year 1251, Our Lady appeared to St. Simon Stock, a Carmelite. She handed him a brown woolen scapular and said, “This shall be a privilege for you and all Carmelites, that anyone dying in this habit shall not suffer eternal fire.” In time, the Church extended this magnificent privilege to all the laity who are willing to be invested in the Brown Scapular. The scapular must be 100% wool without plastic casing and should not be pinned or affixed to clothing. It is worn over the head, under one’s clothes, with one square of wool hanging on the chest and the other on the back. —
