These cute little crosses have a secret to tell. They are made with a wood base topped with burnt brown bag*. Metallic foil is added and then sealed with a triple thick sealer. Decorations are then added. They are painted on the back. And their secret is a cross cutout that reveals the brown paper used.
*Burnt Brown Bag is a technique achieved by layering glue onto brown paper, then burning it over a candle flame. The result is a blackened product similar to leather. Cured and sealed, it becomes water resistant and can be transformed into a variety of items. Each piece different from any others.
