Genuine sea glass and sea pottery entitled Crystal Mountains inspired by the shard of pottery in the top right corner that depicts a beautiful mountain range. There is also a large mountainous purple piece that has what looks like mini crystal mountains – that piece is from Prince Edward Island and has been in my collection for years. There is also a vintage washboard shard, antique oil lantern rim, sun purples and many other rare and beautiful pieces.
Each piece has been hand-collected along sandy shores. Some of these shards have been collected in the past few weeks (July-August 2024) in Prince Edward Island, Canada.
Many of these pieces and colours are especially hard to find. Not only do they tell a story of my seaside adventures they also behold another lifetime of stories before they ended up broken and discarded in the ocean.
It's summer time here in Prince Edward Island so my newly made sea treasure frames are filled with a combination of new and old finds. My beach-combing collection goes back more than 20 years and even longer for my Mom. I like to rummage through her collection and oftentimes I find shards from the same vessel found years apart.
This frame is filled with real hand-collected sea treasures, and is not a print. These colours are considered a rare found objects and each frame has the equivalent of months, if not years, of collecting along the ocean coast.
You will receive the exact frame and treasures shown in the pictures. Some of my other frames are made to order and some are what you see so please read full descriptions or ask me.
Dimensions: 10" x 10" Inch square white frame with a glass cover- inner sea glass section is 5"x5". Can be displayed on a table or hung on a wall.
♡ Great gift idea! Perfect for the cottage or sea-themed wedding.
Please note* some of the shards have been smoothed mainly to remove rust/dirt and the odd sharp edge. This allows the colours and patterns to pop!
Sea Glass Origins:
Genuine sea glass/sea pottery originates from pieces of broken bottles, tableware, or even shipwrecks which are tumbled by the ocean for years. It can take 50 years or as much 100 to develop its characteristic shape and texture- until all of the edges are rounded off, and the shininess of the glass has been worn to a frosty appearance.
The sea treasures are real therefore they may have minor imperfections and a slightly irregular shape. Please note all pictures before purchasing 🙂
