These have got to be the coolest coffee makers ever invented. This one is double cool since it is glass and Pyrex!! It has a glass filter rod, a stand to set the top part safely on after you have brewed the coffee. The handle has a lever to release the seal for you. It will make 8 cups of coffee. The rubber gasket is in excellent condition and is supple. There are no cracks or chips on any of the glass. The black plastic "neck" is broken, but is firmly in place under the metal band. The handle is securely attached. The spring on the filter is tight and in great condition.
To make coffee, you put the water in the bottom and set it on the stove to boil. (don't have the burner on high, med heat is best) When it starts boiling, it will suck all the water up into the top part. Add your coffee grounds and stir it slightly. It will bubble in the top and the bottom. When it is to the level of blackness that you want, simply remove it off the burner.
All the coffee will SWOOSH down into the pot below, the coffee grounds will stay in the top.
ALL the coffee grounds!! Use the lever to loosen the top and set it on the stand. (NOTE!!! Do NOT push the top part down into the pot, a very slight nudge is all that is needed. Otherwise it will vacuum in, and will be too tight for the lever. If this happens, wiggle the top back and forth a bit with your hand to loosen it. (it won't be hot) Pretty sure that is how the black plastic "neck" was broken)
There are a lot of videos on how to use one of these, but this is the best that I found. (short and knowledgeable, without a 30 minute dissertation on the history of every coffee pot ever made) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMKundnJ4v0&ab_channel=MichelleBoice
