I love this find! It is a Victorian Era quadruple napkin ring with an "Old Times" Music theme. It was made by the Meriden Wilcox Britannia Silver Plating Company in Meriden, CN. Just a side note: The detail is stunning! Although the marks on the back are difficult to read, the tools crossed in the middle identify the piece as being made by Meriden Wilcox. The violin looks so realistic. The design is so unique. Upon further inspection I realized there is an etching that says "Old Times" on the side left and under the violin. There are music notes on a staff in two different locations on the outside and on the inside bottom of the piece under the ring! The ring has beautiful ornate flowers etched on the top. The only imperfection I see is that the ring looks like it might have been altered in shape at one time due to a crush of some sort. (Perhaps someone accidently stepped on it or it got crushed in some other way? Upon looking up similar items, I observed that many of the rings are misshaped like that so perhaps it was a production flaw? Nevertheless, it is a fantastic and unique piece to add to anyone's Victorian collection!
