Sterling Silver Plated (Pewter Color) Match Cup/ Toothpick Cup

Description

For your consideration, an antique New Haven Silver Plate Co. Quadruple Silver Plated, Match Cup. Made between 1891–1898. Intricate embossed “Matches” engraving on the front. Can be used for toothpicks or matches.

Match holders were made to hold the large wooden matches that were used in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries for a variety of purposes. One type of match holder was made to hang on the wall, another was designed to be kept on a tabletop. Often made of tin, pewter, or silver.

A unique gift for yourself or others, that will last a lifetime.

Measurements: 1 3/4” inches tall, 1 3/4” wide.
Condition: Excellent. I did not polish this item.
Color: Silver or Pewter.
